I tried out JCurses for the console. It seems to work fine. Though mainly what I needed was simply to position text in any x,y location with given foreground and background colors.
To do that I made a new TextComponent and copied the source from the one in JCurses API, then made some of its methods that were private public instead. This was my own custom widget actually.

Can you post something like a tutorial guide with some examples ? I am planning to make like a platform and i think this can be used as a chat thingy Look at the code on www.sf.net/p/javaledger Its an accounting app I just made using jcurses. Though its very simplistic. I know of no tutorials you will simply have to mess around with the jcurses api. Though if you were familiar with ncurses in c it should be very similar.
